The Walkathon is annual event to raise funds for 105 Gibson Centre’s programs and services.
Net proceeds will be used to support the Centre’s programs and services. Expenses include printing, online donation transaction fees and other nominal fees.
Please visit www.105gibson.com/walkathon and click on the ”Register to walk/ Make a donation ” Button to proceed to registration. Once the form is submitted, 105 Gibson Centre staff will contact you by email with your Envelope # and a PDF pledge form. Then you can either solicit donations or fundraise online. Your name will be shown on the online donation page when your Envelope # is being created.
For ONLINE donations: Your supporters can visit www.105gibson.com/walkathon and click on the ”Register to walk/ Make a donation ” button. It will take them to the online donation page. They can select your name from the list of walkers and complete the remaining portion of the form to make a safe online donation.
For Cash/Cheque donations: Your supporters can complete the details on the pledge form along with the donation. Please write the cheques payable to 105 Gibson Centre.
This year’s walk has two distances: 2.5Km and 5Km. Both routes will begin at 105 Gibson Centre and walk to Good Shepherd Community Church (390 Bamburgh Circle). The 2.5Km route will turn back to Centre to finish. The 5Km route will continue to walk around Bamburgh Circle and return to Centre to finish.
Do wear comfortable footwear and clothing suitable for the outdoors.
8:30 – 9 am – Registration and pick up t-shirt
9 – 9:15 am – warm up exercises in gym
9:15 – 9:30 am – remarks and announcements
9:30 am – walk begins
11:00 am – event ends
Refreshment will be provided after participants return to the Centre from the walk.
Free t-shirts are only provided to walkers who have raised $50 or more.
Walkers who have raised $50 or more will receive their T-shirts on event day at registration.
Please bring your pledge form(s) and cash/cheque donation to registration on event day. The Centre office will have a record of the online donation.
The $50 is based on amount received online BY FRIDAY OCTOBER 4 3 pm plus the donations received on pledge forms.
The Church will issue tax receipts for donations of $20 or above.
